Course Objectives
In this year-long course, the students experienced writing through analyzing different kinds of texts, engaging in discussions with their peers and instructor, as well as revising their own drafts. In total, five types of essays were introduced which included: process essays, comparison essays, cause-effect essays, argumentative essays, and problem-solution essays. In addition, the students wrote three journals during the second semester (English Composition IV) and posted them on the Wix.com webpage. Training sessions were provided to familiarize students how to use the Wix platform. The goal of this course was to prepare students to become an independent writer who can develop writing skills through practicing different types of genres, respond to feedback, proofread and improve your compositions.
