More than 2 billion people use the food delivery platforms monthly. Because the needs are getting higher, the number of food delivery is growing fast. There are three reasons why food delivery is everywhere.

The above information indicates that laziness causes people to use food delivery. Another reason is the habit of dining out. Due to the busy life nowadays and the change of traditional concepts, women aren’t responsible for cooking every day, and thus, the willingness of cooking at home is reduced. People prefer to dine out because it’s convenient and it doesn’t need to spend lots of time preparing ingredients or washing dishes. Rather than cooking or taking out, more and more people nowadays prefer ordering in. Therefore, more and more restaurants corporate with food delivery platforms that provide the service and customers can enjoy hot and fresh delicacies at home. This convenient choice leads to the increasing number of using food delivery platforms.
Secondly, advertising has a significant influence on the food delivery industry. In order to give enormous publicity of food delivery, the companies that supply food delivery service spend a large amount of money on promoting. For instance, we can see lots of ads on different websites, Youtube, or billboards. Although these ads don’t make people stop their busy pace, people still be influenced unconsciously. By stimulating people’s visual and auditory gradually, people who never used food delivery will eventually have a strong motive to give it a try. In addition, the exposure of food delivery ads leads to a big hit about this industry. Once the new trend is promoted by a great number of people, those who haven't tried it may be regarded as outdated. In order to catch up the new trend, people will try to use food delivery platform to avoid being old fashion. As a result, advertisement contributes to the popularity of food delivery industry.
Lastly, using food delivery for meals is more time efficient. Compared with dining out, food delivery is a time-saving way for meals. According to the same survey collected by Daily View, the data indicates that office workers are the majority group who use the food delivery platform. The concept of food delivery is that people spend money buying time. Because of the bustling life, people usually lack mealtime; thus, food delivery is the best choice. Being busy working, people can use food delivery to avoid wasting lots of time on buying meals. Furthermore, people can enjoy a variety of foods in high popularity restaurants without waiting in line. Rather than waiting for hours to gulp down delicates, people prefer using delivery service to cut down waiting time. There is a saying goes,“Time is money”. Delivers spend time waiting for meals and delivering, while users only have to pay delivery fees and the meal will be send to them. Time efficiency is a feature of food delivery platform; therefore, people prefer using it as time-saving way for meals in a busy life.
Undeniably, food delivery platforms provide convenient service. Due to people’s laziness, enormous advertisements and time efficiency, the growth of food delivery users is increasing. The food delivery industry is flourishing nowadays; thus, more advanced platforms are developed to create value co-production and make customers, delivers, and restaurants mutually benefit. We can expect that this new trend of dining mode will change not only our habits but the world economy.
